A common question that always lingers in every girls mind especially when they reach 12 years old. If this happens, what should you do?
Firstly, you should always keep a spare sanitary pad in your bag, purse or locker. It is not necessarily you have to wait for your first period then only you think about keeping a spare of a sanitary pad.
Let me give you a heads up about period, you will never know when it will make their first appearance. So, to be safe, always keep a spare of a sanitary pad in every place you can fit in without everyone notice it.
However, if you already had your period and you have no clue what to do since there is a blood stain on your cloth, then follow these tips.
Tell your teacher, school nurse or counselor your situation, they will help you.
If you are too shy to ask them, look for any female adult in that school that you are comfortable with to help you. Usually, any female adult will have a spare or sanitary pad in their bag or purse.
If you are not comfortable talking to an adult about your period, talk to your friend that you know already have their first period. They might be able to help you out.
Keep in mind that your friend cannot help you if you had a period stain. The last thing that you want is walking around the school with a period blood all over your pants or skirts.
So, it best if you talk to an adult about a period stain. If you have a male teacher, tell him that you have to see a school nurse or other female teacher because you have a “female situation”. Any male teacher will understand the secret code.
Either way, any responsible adult in your school will try to give you spare pants to change or they will call your parents to send you spare pants or sanitary pad. Some school even allow you your parents to take you home if you had your period at school. Depending on your situation.
Just remember that it’s okay to have your period at school as long as you know what to do and do not panic. Or else, everyone in the school will know that you had a messy period.
